July 29 2022 The Santa Cruz Seaweed defeated the Santa Rosa Scuba Divers 10-4 at Doyle Park. Santa Cruz broke out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, added a run in the second, and broke the game open with five runs in the third. The Seaweed added two more runs in the fourth to take a 10-1 advantage.
Michael Green led Santa Cruz with four hits and three RBI, while Dillon Ponce and Cole Gaskey each collected two hits. Ponce scored twice and drove in one run, and Gaskey also added an RBI. Santa Cruz finished with 11 hits and no errors. Santa Rosa scored once in the fourth and seventh innings before adding two runs in the eighth, but could not overcome the early deficit.
Nic Ray earned the win with a complete-game effort, allowing 12 hits and four runs, three earned, while striking out three and issuing no walks. Santa Rosa starter Holden King took the loss after allowing eight runs, six earned, on six hits in two innings. Calvin Cromwell followed with seven innings of two-run ball, allowing five hits and striking out five. Santa Rosa recorded 12 hits, led by two-hit performances from Dontavious Dickey, Enok Perez, Christopher Procopio, and Brian Garcia, but committed two errors.
