June 2 2022 The Santa Rosa Scuba Divers defeated the Santa Cruz Seaweed 16-9, using a six-run fourth inning to build a commanding lead. Santa Rosa scored twice in the second, four times in the third and six times in the fourth to move ahead 12-4. The Scuba Divers added two runs in both the seventh and eighth innings, while Santa Cruz scored in the first, third, fourth, sixth, seventh and eighth.
Eric Kozak led Santa Rosa with a home run, three runs scored and three RBI while drawing three walks.
James Martin went 1-for-2 with two runs, three RBI and three walks, and
Marcus Scales hit two home runs, scored twice and drove in two. Santa Rosa finished with nine hits and 13 walks.
Santa Cruz received a three-hit performance from
Nick Giambalvo, who hit two home runs, scored twice and drove in two.
Cole Gaskey added two hits and three RBI, while
Anthony Larrasquitu hit a home run and contributed two RBI. The Seaweed totaled eight hits and scored nine runs.
Austin Mora earned the win for Santa Rosa after allowing five hits and four earned runs over five innings with two walks and one strikeout. T. Hitchens closed out the game with 2 1/3 innings of one-run ball, allowing one hit and striking out four. Nathaniel Brezner Mendoza was charged with the loss for Santa Cruz after three innings, six runs, three earned, five walks and three strikeouts.
