Pacifics Power Past Seaweed 10-1

June 3 2022 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Santa Cruz Seaweed 10-1 behind a 13-hit attack and a five-home-run performance. Santa Cruz scored once in the first inning, but San Rafael answered with two runs in the second and added single runs in the third and three more in the fourth to take control.

John Bicos led the Pacifics with three home runs and five RBI. Jonathan Waite added a home run, three runs and five RBI, while Hasegawa contributed a home run and two RBI. San Rafael also scored twice in the sixth and twice in the seventh, finishing with 10 runs and one error.

Hasegawa earned the win after allowing one earned run on six hits in six innings with four strikeouts and no walks. Kyle Ulanday followed with two scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out one. Santa Cruz starter Nic Ray took the loss after surrendering eight runs on eight hits in 5.1 innings, while Greg Salazar allowed two runs in 1.2 innings.

Erik Mitchell paced Santa Cruz with three hits, including a triple, and Mike Anthony drove in the Seaweeds only run. Santa Cruz finished with eight hits and committed four errors, while San Rafael improved its record to 41-9.
